Support Mountain State
Stakeholders in Our Communities
In 1992, MTSTCIL created the Foundation for Independent Living as the fund raising arm of the center. This allows for more flexibility in raising money to support the centers' activities, since the Foundation is not funded with Federal funds.
The Foundation has since purchased the building at 821 Fourth Avenue in Huntington, WV, which houses the MTSTCIL corporate offices. The Foundation has been involved in a capital campaign to raise money for the renovations of the building. This is still an on-going project, with renovations being completed as funds are raised.
Money raised by the Foundation has also gone to purchase a new accessible van for both the Huntington and Beckley offices, as well as provide much needed repairs to the Beckley office.
