Joanna Hammond - Community Resource Advocate

As a community resource advocate at the Huntington West Virginia center, my duties include skills training, working with veterans and transitioning people from institutionalized settings to independent living as well as identifying and utilizing resources available in the community.

Before working at Mountain State, I worked with people with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and intellectual disabilities.

I have a bachelors degree in counseling from Marshall University and am currently a grad student there in the Adult Education, training and development program.

I am a resident in the Huntington area and the mother of two sons, Braxton and Peyton. My boys are involved in sports, which keeps me very busy.

You can reach me in the Huntington office at 304-525-3324 or by email at
