I have been working part time at Mountain State Centers for Independent Living (MTSTCIL) for over three years as the van driver for the Center. As the van driver, I provide transportation for people with disabilities who are consumers of MTSTCIL services. Having accessible transportation enables them to attend Skills Training classes, advocacy actions around issues for people with disabilities and other MTSTCIL sponsored events, such as political debates.
I am married, the father of four adult children and three grandchildren. I am also step-father to three adult children, two of which are visually impaired. I am a person with hidden disabilities. I have rheumatoid arthritis, osteo-arthritis, am diabetic and have lymphoma and leukemia. I am very active and keep busy all the time.
I am a retired coal miner from Fayette County West Virginia, I worked underground in the mines for over 35 years. I operated the miner and worked on every job in the mines over my time there. I enjoy building classic cars and have built over 20 classic cars in my lifetime including hundreds of classic Volkswagens. One of my cars was featured in "Hot VW" Magazine in 1984. I also enjoy deer hunting and collecting classic cars and helicopters. I am an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ceredo.
If you would like to participate in events at the center and need transportation give me a call at 304-525-3324.
